Years pass, and the giant grows old. One winter day, he notices the same small boy who he had helped years ago. The boy now has stigmata on his hands and feet, reminiscent of Christ’s wounds. The giant understands that the boy is actually an angel, sent to bless him for his act of kindness. The angel takes the giant with him to paradise, where the giant finds eternal joy and peace.
