• Lok Sabha has passed the Tribunals Reforms Bill, 2026. The Bill was passed without discussion amidst opposition uproar. As the pandemonium continued, the Chair adjourned the House for the day to meet again at 11:00 AM today.
• Union Minister and Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth questioned the Jharkhand government’s reluctance to order an independent investigation into the alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission examination.
• The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange colour warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall over East Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Madhya Pradesh for the day. Heavy Rainfall is also expected over Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Vidarbha.

• Indonesia intensified efforts to combat wildfires that have burned more than 107,000 hectares, deploying hundreds of firefighters and helicopters as blazes spread across the country during an unusually dry season.
• Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said today that the Strait of Hormuz will notreopen until the US continues its naval blockade against Iran. Addressing a weekly press briefing in Tehran, Baqaei said that the Strait of Hormuz was closed due to the US and Israeli military aggression.
