  • Rajasthan is the largest state of India. The total area of Rajasthan state is 3,42,239 square km (132140 square miles).
  • Rajasthan is also known as “land of Maharajas”.
  • Rajasthan has 53 districts. Malpura, Sujangarh, Kuchaman City are the newest districts of Rajasthan. 
  • camels in Rajasthan are known as “desert ships”.
  • Marwari breed of horses is very famous in Rajasthan.
  • An unknown fact about Rajasthan is that it is home to India’s oldest mountain range – the Aravalli Range.
  • There is only one hill station in Rajasthan, Mount Abu.
  • Talking about the history of Rajasthan, a place called Kalibangan located in the state shows that it is the oldest certified plowed field in the world. This means that this place has been part of the – Indus Valley Civilization, the oldest civilization in the world.
  • Every city in Rajasthan follows a color code. For example, Jaipur is known as “pink city” because many of its buildings are painted pink. Jodhpur’s color is blue, Udaipur’s color is white and Jhalawar’s color is purple.
  • Rajasthan state is the only state which has only one hill station. Mount Abu is located at 1,722 meters above sea level, which is also the highest point in the Aravali.
  • Ajmer Sharif Dargah is one of the famous religious places in Ajmer, Rajasthan.
  • Rajasthan has many national parks and sanctuaries, some of which contain wildlife such as tigers, leopards, elephants and rhinos.
  • Rajasthan is also known for its traditional handicrafts and handicrafts.

  • Bikaner Camel Festival is held every year for 2 days in the month of January. 
  • Rat Temple or Karni Mata Temple is located in Deshnoke, about 30 km from Bikaner city. The temple is popular for the 25 thousand black rats that live in the temple. 
  • The Thar Desert is the 17th largest desert in the world with 60% in the state of Rajasthan.
